Welcome to Nurture and Grace for Youth: Building Brighter Futures in Ontario

September 8, 2026

Welcome to the official launch of Nurture and Grace for Youth. We are incredibly proud to introduce our mission to the community and take our first steps toward providing vulnerable young people in Ontario with a safe, stable, and nurturing place to call home.

Founded by a team of registered nurses, including Carrie Pryce, our organization was born out of a lifelong passion for youth development and a clear understanding of the challenges many young people face today. We have seen the incredible resilience of youth experiencing housing instability, family disruption, trauma, and the often-daunting transition out of the child-welfare system. We also know that simply providing a roof over their heads is not enough. True stability requires a foundation of compassionate care, practical life skills, and a community that believes in their potential.

More Than Just Housing

At Nurture and Grace for Youth, we believe every young person deserves an environment where they feel respected, supported, and valued. Our residential support model goes beyond safe accommodation; we have developed a structured, trauma-informed approach centered on five interconnected pillars:

  • Safe Housing: Providing a secure, consistent environment where healing, growth, and trust can take root.
  • Life-Skills Training: Equipping youth with the everyday knowledge required for independence, from cooking and household management to time management and conflict resolution.
  • Education and Employment: Supporting academic engagement, vocational training, and career readiness through active mentorship and goal-setting.
  • Financial Literacy: Teaching practical money management, including budgeting, responsible borrowing, and understanding expenses, to ensure long-term self-sufficiency.
  • Health and Wellness: Helping youth navigate and connect with qualified healthcare and mental-health professionals within the community.

A Collaborative Support Network

We recognize that we cannot do this work in isolation. Our vision relies heavily on collaboration. By building strong partnerships with child-welfare agencies, local schools, mental-health organizations, and community groups, we are weaving a coordinated support network. Instead of trying to replace specialized clinical treatments, our goal is to create a home base where youth are supported in accessing and remaining connected to the professional care they need.

Looking Ahead

As we move forward with our three-year development plan, our immediate focus is on securing and preparing the right residential space, recruiting a dedicated team of youth-support professionals, and launching our core programming. We are actively seeking grants, community investments, and strategic partnerships to help us build the infrastructure required to serve these youth effectively.

Our ultimate measure of success won’t just be the residential days we provide, but the young people who move forward with stronger life skills, renewed confidence, and a realistic pathway toward independent living. We aren’t simply building a residence—we are building a foundation for brighter futures.

We invite you to join us on this journey. Whether you are a community partner, a potential funder, or someone who shares our passion for youth development, your support makes a difference.
